I suggest cutting the fabric to the right size. The pillows I was covering were 16\" X 16\", so I cut the fabric to 16\" X 38\". Then I folded and sewed the short ends. They need to be fresh leaves. Not ones you find on the ground and are dry and brittle. Not ones that you picked two days ago, but haven't done your project yet {pointing at myself}. The leaves need to be soft and pliable.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EFor the best results, place the leaves upside down. Hold it firmly in place while you rub over the leaf with the side of a crayon. This was the part that was the most frustrating. I kept the can because I wanted to figure out something to make with it. This is the result. \u0026nbsp; This can is not only festive, but fun for the kids. \u003Cbr \/\u003EMy 6 year old helped me make this. She kept asking me the whole time, \"So we get to play with this when we're done?\" I guess too many of my projects are not for the kids to touch :)\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EFor this project you will need: \u003Cbr \/\u003Ean empty tin can {Mine was a pumpkin can}\u003Cbr \/\u003Eorange spray paint\u003Cbr \/\u003Eblack paper\u003Cbr \/\u003Emagnetic sheets\u003Cbr \/\u003Escissors\u003Cbr \/\u003Ejack-o-lantern shapes {you can draw them yourself, use a silhouette, or search the web for faces}\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EFirst spray paint your can. I used some leftover paint I had and there wasn't much, so I just did the outside of the can.\u0026nbsp; \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EWhile the can was drying, I started cutting out my jack-o-lantern faces on black paper. Peel off the paper backing {this was my 6 year old's job} and attach the black paper.
