Frame Makeover

Last summer I found all these old unique frames at a yard sale. I think they were fifty cents each. I brought them home and promptly gave them a coat of spray paint. I was so proud of myself for getting my project going so quickly. Then they sat and sat and sat. Then in March my sisters came to visit. I had them help me arrange and hang them in my craft room. Then last month I finally took some pictures of them. And now I'm finally sharing them with you. Way too many of my projects are like that. They get started, then I stall, and it's months before I finish them.

You may notice that there were six frames, but I only hung up five of them. I'm going to make a pin cushion to sit at my sewing table with the last one. Hopefully I'll get going on that soon.

For now they are empty. I'm not sure if I want to fill them or not. I kind of like the look. They sit right above my sewing machine. I thought framing objects, for example a small pair of thread scissors, a thimble, a spool of thread, things like that. I'm not sure.
What would you do?

  1. I did something similar using gold paint and it looked great! yours are pretty too because of how ornate the frames are.:-)

  2. I love the way you did it :) Did you use some special glue to stick them to the wall, like tile adhesive, or normal nails with a hammer? Because it looks so fragile :)
