If you've never made homemade hot fudge sauce then you need to try my grandma's recipe. You will love it.
Here's the step-by-step:
1. Melt butter and baking chocolate.
2. This is what it will look like once it's all melted together.
3. Gradually add sugar and then evaporated milk. You may think you've ruined it - it looks kinda gross at this point. But don't worry, that's what it's supposed to do.
4. Bring to a boil for a minute or two. Then add vanilla.
Let it cool for a bit, then enjoy!
Hot Fudge Sauce
2 sticks margarine
4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate**
3 c. sugar
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 t. vanilla
Melt margarine and chocolate in saucepan.
Gradually stir in sugar, then evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and let boil a minute or two.
Add vanilla.
Store in the refrigerator.
We just heat the leftovers in the microwave.
I usually store it in a mason jar. This is how much was left after we all had some. It makes a ton. I often 1/2 the recipe.
**Also if you don't have unsweetened baking chocolate don't worry, if you have cocoa and oil, you can still make it.
1 square of baking chocolate = 3 T. coca + 1 T. oil
So for a full recipe you'll need 3/4 c. cocoa and 1/4 c. oil.
Try it and let me know what you think.
