NO SEW FLEECE BLANKET WITH SHORT FRINGE (SO EASY!)

I had several cuts of fleece that I needed to make into blankets.

Every get supplies for something, and then it doesn't get made? Like for years? Yeah, that's me.

But I'm feeling accomplished, I got a blanket made for each member of my family.

Each blanket is made differently.

I wanted them to get done, so they had to be easy!

Here are the other styles I made: Today we're making a blanket with a short fringe. It's the easiest of them all.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR EASY FLEECE BLANKETS

You don't need a lot to make fleece blankets. Fleece and a cutting tool. I use a rotary cutter to cut my fleece. I realize that anyone looking for a no-sew blanket tutorial, probably doesn't have one. Sharp scissors and a ruler work just fine!

How much fleece do you need? Here's a guideline:

Baby blanket - 1 yard (makes 2 blankets) Child Blanket - 1 1/2 yard Teen/Adult Blanket 1 2 yards

Begin by preparing your fleece. Fleece is pretty much ready to go when you purchase it.

I like to straighten up the edges (the store doesn't always cut straight!).

The other thing to do is remove the selvage edge. This is the edge that has all the writing on it that isn't part of the design of the fabric.

fleece fabric folded in half

Next, since I like to get things done quickly, I fold the fabric in half.

As I work on the blanket, I will cut through both layers.

This way you can get two sides done at once.

Then simply fold the blanket the other direction and repeat the process on the remaining side.

cutting and preparing a fleece blanket

Cut a one inch square from each corner.

Then make a cut every inch along the side of the fabric. Each cut should be one inch deep.

Make these cuts along all sides of the blanket.

That's it! You'll have a cute little fringe on the end.

Since fleece doesn't fray, there is nothing else you need to do to finish it off.
